The Destiny 2 Gjallarhorn has arrived, and with some help from its Exotic catalyst, it’s proven itself a worthy version of the iconic rocket launcher. Note that you will need to purchase the Bungie 30th Anniversary pack to get this Exotic weapon since it’s tied to the new Grasp of Avarice dungeon. How to start the Destiny 2 Gjallarhorn quest “And Out Fly the Wolves”
Stop by Xur in his new Treasure Hoard social space to grab the quest “And Out Fly the Wolves.” Visit Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome and talk to him to continue the quest. The next step of the quest simply requires you to clear the new Grasp of Avarice dungeon (normal difficulty is fine). Grasp of Avarice takes some doing, but it isn’t too complicated. Where to find powerful Fallen in the Cosmodrome
Once you’ve cleared Grasp of Avarice and looted the final chest, return to Shaw Han to unlock the next step, which involves killing “powerful” Fallen enemies in the Cosmodrome. The Exodus Garden 2A Lost Sector, located just south of the landing zone near Shaw Han, is a great place for this. As long as you kill everything inside, one run of this Lost Sector should do the trick.
Once that’s done, talk to Shaw Han once more and then visit Banshee-44, the gunsmith in the Tower. Banshee will ask you to clear the Exodus Garden 2A Lost Sector one more time, so it’s back to the Cosmodrome. Be sure to kill the Lost Sector boss and loot the chest for this part.
Finishing the Gjallarhorn
With all your weapon parts gathered, head back to Shaw Han and use the tool bench in the nearby garage to assemble a “nearly complete” Gjallarhorn. Talk to Shaw one more time to put the finishing touches on your new rocket launcher and finish the quest.
How to get the Destiny 2 Gjallarhorn catalyst
Gjallarhorn feels great out of the box, but it’s even better with its Exotic catalyst. It lets you load two rockets at once and gives Gjallarhorn’s staple Wolfpack Rounds added lethality, so it’s well worth getting. To get it, you’ll need to head back to the Grasp of Avarice dungeon and open three secret chests as you make your way through. To open these chests, you’ll first need to get the “Burdened by Riches” debuff by grabbing some of those special engrams. These drop from yellow-bar Fallen Vandals which spawn near these secret chests; all you have to do is damage them (not kill them) to get some engrams, then leg it to the chest before your buff timer runs out.
