How to unlock the Assassins Creed Origins unicorn

You want to know how to unlock the Assassin’s Creed Origins unicorn. Of course you do: it’s a unicorn. It doesn’t have to make sense, it’s just cool. There are rainbows.

There are three ways to actually get the Assassin’s Creed Origins unicorn and unfortunately, the easiest and only guaranteed way involves buying it. To do that you’ll need to head to the content store and spend 500 helix credits. You’ll get a total of 500 helix credits if you buy an edition of the game that comes with a season pass, which is exactly how much a unicorn costs. If you don’t have that you’ll have to buy credits with very real money from the online store – for £3.99 for 500 upwards

To buy the unicorn, simply head to the store from the main menu and either click on the ‘upgrade your mount’ tab or use R1 or your right bumper to cycle along to the ‘gear’ tab. Select the unicorn and it’s yours. You can also use the credits to buy different outfits, shields, map packs (for finding the hardest treasures in the game) and ability points.

If you don’t want to spend real money then you can get the Assassin’s Creed Origins unicorn through a combination of luck and patience. If you visit Reda at the Nomad’s Bazaar market stall you’ll find he has 3000 Drachma special item boxes for rare weaponry and a special quest every day to earn even more ultra rare Legendary loot. There’s a chance that one of these rewards could be the unicorn. The other option is to take part in the Hippodrome for races, again the rewards here have a chance of being a unicorn mount. Obviously both option are complexity random so it might be minutes, it might be hours before you see a horse with a horn.

One thing to bare in mind if you’ve bought the unicorn is that you’ll have to complete the first 15 minutes of the game, and reach the point where you’re told to call in your mount. When this happens you’ll be able to head to your gear menu, go to your mount and open your available selection. Select the unicorn, exit to the game and then use the down directional button to summon it with a whistle.
