Nintendo Switch 13.2.0 update adds “general system stability improvements”

Nintendo has released a new system update for the Nintendo Switch which improves the console’s general stability.

The 13.2.0 update (opens in new tab) contains just one patch note, which reads: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” Other than this single patch note, we’re not sure exactly what these improvements are, however, it’s good to know that Nintendo is always working on improving the Nintendo Switch for its players.

A dataminer – known as @OatmealDome (opens in new tab) on Twitter – however, took a look inside the update and discovered that it also “added support for CADPA, a new Chinese rating system, to the software startup screen.” This means that any Chinese-region games played on the Nintendo console will now display this new rating system icon on the bottom left corner of the screen upon startup.

This is understandably only a small update this time around considering the previous 13.1.0 update brought a tonne of new features to the Nintendo Switch including the new Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This allowed those with active memberships access to a large library of Nintendo 64 and Sega Mega Drive games as well as additional content for Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the form of the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

In other Nintendo news, recent statistics from Nintendo itself have revealed that 32 million of us are now subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online, that’s six million more than it previously had (26 million) around this time last year. This could be due in part to the aforementioned new Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack as well as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0 – with more people returning to their islands due to the new in-game content.

Looking forward to what Nintendo has planned for the future? Get up to date with what’s still to come with our upcoming Switch games list.
