Although Pandemic may be discounted even more in a few weeks, there’s no guarantee it’ll do so before the Black Friday board game deals are over. With that in mind, we’d give this some serious thought if you’ve been looking for a new game to enjoy over the Holidays.

Arkham Horror: The Card Game | $44.95 $32.36 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
Save 28% – This adaptation of the beloved Lovecraftian board game is always a firm favorite, and we’ve heard it described as (whisper it) being much easier to get into. This $12 discount is a nice way to kick off the early Black Friday board game deals as a result.

Pandemic Legacy: Season 0 | $79.99 $63.99 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
Save 20% – The standard version of Pandemic is a must-have if you find it on offer, but for our money, this Cold War spin-off is better. As a ‘Legacy’ game, your actions have consequences that carry over from session to session. This means plenty of secret mechanics will unlock over time, but it also means a higher cost for the game itself. As such, any discount you can get is worthwhile.

Twilight Imperium | $169.99 $119.99 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
Save 27% – A classic sci-fi strategy game, Twilight Imperium has been around in one form or another since the 1990s and continues to impress today thanks to its collection of 354 miniatures and countless cards. Unfortunately, it’s got a similarly impressive cost. Famously expensive, this is a tactician’s dream but is often priced out of most peoples’ budgets – and that’s why any discount is such a big deal. While it’s fallen to $110 during previous Black Friday board game deals, this is still a great offer on a product that doesn’t often see good reductions.

Save 22% – This new edition of the Descent RPG is hoping to knock Gloomhaven off its perch, and thanks to a cleverly-integrated app experience, it has a good chance of doing so. However, it’s every bit as expensive as its rival. That means this discount for the Black Friday board game deals is a bargain.

What will the best Black Friday board game deals be?

There’s a lot of ground to cover when it comes to the Black Friday board game deals, so what should you be looking out for? Considering the sale’s proximity to Christmas, board games for families such as Pandemic, Catan, and Ticket to Ride are always a good shout. They’re usually cheaper than normal and will go down really well if you’re visiting loved ones over the Holiday season.

However, it’s worth pointing out that those games always seem to be on sale – the discount you’ll get during Black Friday isn’t dissimilar to other year-round reductions. As such, the best deals tend to be on more expensive board games for adults such as Wingspan, Mansions of Madness, Root, or Twilight Imperium. Because these usually weigh in at $100/£100+, being able to pick them up for less isn’t an opportunity to miss (especially considering the fact that Gloomhaven, often considered to be one of the best cooperative board games out there, tumbled to its lowest ever price during last year’s Black Friday board game deals).

Black Friday board game deals

Just make sure you don’t wait too long on the off-chance a better offer comes up. As demonstrated by Gloomhaven in the 2020 Black Friday board game deals, it’s unlikely to happen; this will probably be your best chance of scoring a bargain.

Plus, there’s always the danger that the game in question sells out or leaps back up to full price before long. We’ve been burned by that ol’ chestnut before, and it’s more of a danger than ever these days thanks to manufacturing difficulties that have been impacting board game stock across the world.

Naturally, Black Friday board game deals aren’t the only things worth looking into. The sales event also has a lot of other gear at massively reduced prices, including Black Friday Lego deals, Black Friday Samsung TV deals, Black Friday curved monitor deals, Black Friday projector deals, and Black Friday PS5 and Xbox Series X monitor deals. Gaming peripherals are also well represented, so prepare for the Black Friday gaming headset deals, Black Friday PS5 SSD deals, and Black Friday Xbox controller deals with our guides.
