The one-shot will go on sale on February 8 – as part of what’s become an informal tradition for DC of having a romance-themed anthology around Valentine’s Day.

DC’s Strange Love Adventures will have eight stories across 80 pages, focused squarely on love in DC. Here’s the line-up:

  • Harley Quinn in ‘Lightning in a Bottle’ by writer Stephanie Phillips, artist Jon Sommariva, colorist Rex Lokus, and letterer Pat Brousseau
  • The Flash and Gorilla Grodd in ‘The Grodd Couple’ by writer Rich Douek, penciller Scot Eaton, inker Wayne Faucher, colorist Hi-Fi, and letterer Saida Temofonte
  • Peacemaker in ‘Love of Country’ by writer Rex Ogle, artist Geraldo Borges, colorist Nick Filardi, and letterer Ferran Delgado
  • Blue Beetle in ‘Ritual of Love’ by writer Andrew Marino, artist Pablo M. Collar, colorist Dee Cunniffe, and letterer Josh Reed
  • Shazam and Superman in ‘In the Name of Love’ by writer Che Grayson, artist Jon Mikel, colorist Nick Filari, and letterer Carlos M. Mangual
  • Alfred Pennyworth in ‘Service’ by writer Devin Grayson, artist Roger Robinson, colorist Tony Aviña, and letterer Pat Brosseau
  • Sgt. Rock in ‘Romance on Dinosaur Island’ by writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelley, artist Christian Duce, colorist Enrica Eren Angiolini, and letterer Steve Wands
  • Batman in ‘Dinner for Two’ by writer Ram V, penciller Phil Hester, inkers Eric Gapstur and Ande Parks, colorist Dee Cunniffe, and letterer Clem Robins

DC has shared a five-page preview of ‘Lightning in a Bottle,’ flashing back to just after Harley and Joker broke up, with Harley drowning her sorrows by desecrating the Justice League’s Hall of Justice with graffiti. Shazam shows up to try to curtail her actions, and she… well, she has words for the one-time Captain Marvel. Take a look:

The title of the book, ‘Strange Love Adventures,’ is a play on the name of the classic DC sci-fi anthology Strange Adventures, which ran for 244 issues across the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. For the last few years of its original run, Strange Adventures focused primarily on Adam Strange and the Atomic Knights. The ‘Strange Adventures’ name was resurrected recently for the Adam and Alanna Strange series by Tom King, Mitch Gerads, and Evan ‘Doc’ Shaner (opens in new tab).

And if you remember this by another name, you’re right – DC originally announced this anthology with the title ‘Weird Love Tales,’ but later switched it over to its current name, Strange Love Adventures.

DC’s Strange Love Adventures goes on sale on February 8 – just in time for you to buy and gift to your loved ones.
