Marvel releases trailer for Marvel Voices Heritage special celebrating Native American, Indigenous, and First Nations heroes

Marvel Comics is once again spotlighting Native American, Indigenous, and First Nations creators and characters in a November anthology one-shot titled Marvel’s Voices: Heritage #1 (opens in new tab), which functions as a spiritual sequel to 2020’s Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices (opens in new tab) one-shot.

And now the publisher has released a trailer for the special.

The Marvel’s Voices line is a series of anthologies meant to highlight and showcase creators and characters from different marginalized groups. The publisher points out that the anthology series, which has included titles dedicated to LGBTQ+ creators, Black creators, Latino/Latinx creators, and Asian and Pacific Islander creators. 

Marvel’s Voices: Heritage #1 will feature the origin story of supporting character River from writer Rebecca Roanhorse’s current limited series Echo: Phoenix Song, as well as a tale focusing on Champions member Snowguard from her co-creator Nyla Innuksuk. 

Here’s a complete list of the stories in Marvel’s Voices: Heritage #1:

  • ‘The Unexpected’ by writer/artist Jim Terry and colorist Brittany Peer
  • ‘River: A Friend in Need’ starring River by writer Rebecca Roanhorse, artist Shaun Beyale, inker Belardino Brabo, and colorist Morry Hollowell
  • ‘Snowguard: The Tuurngait’s Song’ by writer Nyla Innuksuk, artist Natasha Donovan, and colorist Rachelle Rosenberg
  • ‘American Eagle: Not Dead Yet’ by writer Steven Paul Judd, artist David Cutler, inker Jose Marzan Jr., and colorist Paris Alleyne
