Before we dig right into this quality list of wireless PS5 headsets, the news that Sony is bringing out a new line of headsets aimed at PS5 (and PC) users is worth taking note of. These ‘INZONE’ headsets are so obviously meant to go with a PS5 – they even share the same design aesthetic. From a wireless perspective, they are worth looking at as two of the m, the H7 andH9 are wireless. And even though they are not out in the mainstream until July 7, 2022, you can reserve one now, so it’s worth finding out how to pre-order Sony INZONE headsets now and swot up on all their specs and features. However, until then, below are the best PS5 wireless headsets going, and they will absolutely hold their own in the face of these new Sony sets.

The official Sony PS5 wireless headset is now my go-to PS5 headset. And that’s because it is just superb. There’s no doubting that it also offers benefits from being the official companion of the PS5. Boasting the same aesthetics and design language, there’s a reason why the Pulse 3D headset is easily one of the best PS5 headsets generally, and perhaps the easiest way to tap into the PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech.
And the quality is noticeable, immediately. From the pre-loaded Astro’s Playroom to bigger, heavier hitters like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the investment in the Tempest audio engine, and how the PUlse 3D delivers it to you, is exceptional; the drivers cover all parts of the audio spectrum brilliantly, with better bass than the official PS4 headsets to boot.
Elsewhere, the built-in mic is reliable and clear, though not being a boom mic does mean it picks up some background noise and isn’t quite as crisp. But this is nitpicking. The Pulse 3D has set a high bar for PS5 wireless headsets, and it’s likely to remain around the top of these lists for the entire generation, based on what it’s capable of and demonstrates. If you can find a PS5 or a PS5 stock drop that includes this headset then we couldn’t recommend going for it more.

The Razer Barracuda X offers something very few gaming headsets manage to these days; simplicity. While other cups can drive up prices with complex software features geared towards the PC crowd, the Barracuda X keeps its features (and price tag) console focused. That means you’re paying for a high-quality audio experience, without having to fork out for specs that you’ll never make the most of. Sure, it’s a stripped back feature list, but when you’re simply after great audio in a lightweight, comfortable headset, this is an excellent option for a top Razer headset at under $100 / £100.
This is only compounded by the excellent battery life we’ve experienced in our testing. Billed at 20 hours, recharges are a rarity when playing for 2-3 hours per night. Plus, that subtle design means these cups are just at home on the daily commute as they are on the battlefield.

Leading the way early on for the third-party makers of PS5 wireless headsets is the SteelSeries Arctis 7P. It’s a fabulous headset and oozes SteelSeries quality from every angle. It’s got a slick and tidy design that also feels robust and solid in the hands – but it’s also comfortable and light on the head. The familiar SteelSeries ski-goggle headband makes it easy to adjust, too.
The microphone is of the highest quality and is retractable, so can be easily put out of the way for single-player playtime. Meanwhile, all the onboard controls are neat, tidy, and responsive. Having a sidetone (hearing your own voice) dial is a nice bonus, and the feature set on PC offers a good amount of customization options as well.
The real quality comes, of course, in the audio, and this is superb. It’s crisp, clear, and detailed. There’s a tiny bit lacking at the bottom end, perhaps, but this doesn’t impact use and the audio experience. To get specific, the 40mm drivers do a great job of giving me Valhalla’s music, natural sounds, and much of the combat noises, while also capturing the combat sounds excellently in the likes of Godfall (don’t @ me), and Spider Man.
If you’re after the best third-party PS5 wireless headset, then this is it. It’s also compatible with PS4 too which is excellent news!

If you’re looking for sheer premium gaming audio in a PS5 wireless headset then Astro’s A50s could well be for you. Definitely worth saving up for to account for their price tag, the A50s have long been a high-tide mark not just within the manufacturer’s own product range but in console wireless headsets for the better part of a decade now. And this latest variant is an absolute banger.
A few minutes with the latest version of the A50 and it’s clear why: there is peerless comfort and build quality, twinned with a rich sound even the most particular of audiophiles would be impressed by. This version’s had its wireless base station slimmed down to take up less space and charges the headset to about 15 hours of charge, which is about the standard for current wireless models. A quick note on the base station and compatibility with PS5 here: you will have to obtain Astro’s HDMI Audio Adapter (opens in new tab) to ensure functionality with the PS5 (follow this guide (opens in new tab)). This is due to the PS5 not having an optical audio port. An extra acquisition but one that is absolutely worth it! Elsewhere, there’s added flexibility and options too by plugging the A50 into a PC and using Astro’s Command Center software to choose between EQ profiles and tweaks within its simple interface. Not that tweaks are really necessary here – the sound you get by default is really special.
It’s authoritative but tight in the low end of the audio spectrum, making those low resonant frequencies felt without drowning out the subtler details higher up the frequency range. In fact, it might be the single best for sound articulation on the wireless market right now, and the best for PlayStation too.
Note: Just remember, Astro makes the A50 for PlayStation and Xbox – ensure you have the right model selected at the retailer before purchasing!

Leading the line of Turtle Beach’s Gen 2 headsets, the Stealth 700 is the best Turtle Beach headset for PS5. It’s had a design upgrade from the previous incarnation with a new, subtler aesthetic, and a flip-to-mute mic that folds neatly into the earcup’s design and form. The controls have also been shuffled around a bit to now only feature on one earcup and all are easy to use.
Still, the new design’s greatest success is that it’s incredibly comfortable. Supple memory foam cushions with Aerofit cooling gel are a highlight, ensuring you can wear them for hours at a time with no aches or strains.
Importantly, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 headset sounds excellent. Its large drivers give you some great all-around sound, and the ability to fine-tune the audio to your liking with the Audio Hub adds depth to the possible soundscapes. The Superhuman Hearing feature is a worthy inclusion too and stays true to Turtle Beach headsets’ exemplary track record in first-person shooters and online shooters. A great headset that’ll cover you for both PS4 and PS5, and a terrific PS5 wireless headset overall.

6. Razer Kaira Pro for PlayStation

If you’re looking for one of the latest and greatest from one of the best in your hunt for a PS5 wireless headset then the Razer Kaira Pro for PlayStation is a terrific choice.
The headset shares a lot with the Kaira range generally that we saw rolled out for Xbox prior to the PlayStation range, and, as a result, looks similar, while maintaining a white and black colourway to match the console. One of the biggest selling points, however, is the inclusion of Razer’s newest haptic feedback tech. The inclusion of this makes this Razer headset is a surefire enhancement for those looking for a bit more immersion from their PS5 wireless headset. The haptics only requires the existence of audio frequency to work which is impressive. The one drawback of the haptics is that your teammates and friends speaking to you will also set them off which is a little annoying – perhaps the next generation of haptics will be able to tell between in-game audio to enhance and chat audio to ignore…
But when the haptics in the Kaira Pro team up with the DualSense, your gaming experience is taken to a different place and really makes for an exciting ride and an immersive experience – though you can turn them off if that’s not your bag. Then you’ll ‘just’ be treated to the Kaira Pro’s excellent audio quality that really does a brilliant job from the deepest of booms to the highest-pitch notes.
The mic could be a bit better with my friends saying I was a bit tinny and thin sounding, but this isn’t too much of a detractor on what is an exceptional PS5 wireless headset.
Note: Stock is seemingly a bit hard to come by for this variant of the Kaira, but it’s definitely worth holding out for so keep checking back here and with retailers.

7. Audeze Penrose

The Audeze Penrose offers another PS5 wireless headset option that sits firmly in the premium end of the spectrum. However, like the Astro above, if any headset gets anywhere near justifying its high price of admission then the Penrose does it.
The Penrose delivers on its price tag immediately, providing some of the best audio possible to get on PlayStation. The headset is well built and has an agreeable design aesthetic draped over a sturdy and robust build, all of which factor into what is a comfortable bit of kit to wear for hours at a time. And you’ll be able to, too, as the battery life is a solid 15 hours or so (though it’s a slow headset to charge from empty).
However, the stars of the show are those 100mm drivers. These deliver some of the richest, most detailed, and excellent audio on offer for PlayStation (and PC) users. The surround sound is spot on and beautifully poised, the detail is exquisite with wind, footsteps, and chatter clearly audible – and at a distant, and the balance is great, with highs that don’t squeal, and bass that is not muddy at all, but boomy and robust.
If you’ve been looking to buy a premium headset, to throw all of your eggs in one quality, excellent basket, then this is probably all the PS5 headset you need – and more.

If you’re looking to maximise bang-to-buck value for your PS5 wireless headset, then the second generation of Turtle Beach Stealth 600s is a great set to consider. Compatible with PS4 and PC too, the positioning of the Stealth 600 Gen 2 as a mid-range headset is likely to be an astute one and attract loads of players who want to maximise their PS5 audio experience without going overboard on price.
With nicely-tuned 50mm drivers, a solid 15-hour battery life, a comfortable fit (even with glasses), the bang for buck value is strong. But when you throw in an easy setup process, Turtle Beach audio excellence, and that price tag, you really are flying in terms of value.
The sound quality is top-tier and the microphone sensitivity is ideal for those who want to communicate without shouting, but the design of the headset does suffer a bit from feeling plasticky and cheap at points. It’s not quite as comfortable as the 700s but isn’t enough to put anyone off, either. Just watch out for those longer play sessions.
Basically, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2s are a good sequel to an affordable wireless headset: the set looks pretty good, feels pretty good, and sounds great – a no-brainer if you’re looking to get a no-nonsense PS5 wireless headset without breaking the bank.

If your top priorities are genuine audio quality and battery life then look no further than the EPOS | Sennheiser GSP 370 headset.
In these two areas, this PS5 wireless headset excels – and in abundance. In terms of sound quality, while you don’t get ‘true’ surround sound, you will get some of the best Sennheiser-quality game audio that’s possible to get. The rich history snd pedigree shines through: there’s clarity, detail, and depth here in bucketloads. The build is also solid as a rock; sturdy, close-but-comfortable, and the perfect weight, while the cups fit so neatly that the design blocks out excess noise by default. In terms of battery life, you’re getting something truly extraordinary too: around 100 hours (one hundred!) from one charge.
If audio quality and battery life (if you had to pick two factors) are the most important features for you when browsing PS5 wireless headsets then this EPOS |or Sennheiser gaming headset is absolutely worth your money.

The Platinum headset shone on every level as a PS4 headset, and also offers a strong option as a PS5 wireless headset option. If you can find it, the Sony Platinum headset has a fantastic mix of price and performance. The 50mm drivers are great, only lacking a tiny bit in the bottom end, but there is an excellent level of audio detail, clarity, surround sound, and richness to everything else. This means the overall audio is of exquisite quality.
The on-board and built-in features are reliable and worthwhile too; there’s an excellent game/chat audio balancer, and the ability to store onboard game audio profiles – specifically designed audio soundscapes for particular games – is awesome. The quality of the Platinum headset means it’s definitely in with a shout of being one of the best PS5 wireless headsets you can use nowadays as a result, and it’s a particularly great option for those folks wanting an official headset to straddle two great consoles.
Now, importantly, it isn’t being made anymore by Sony. However, it is still possible to find deals on it so keep a lookout if this is the PS5 wireless headset that interests you.

11. Razer BlackShark V2 Pro

Now, while not really focused toward or even ‘sold’ as a PS5 wireless headset, the BlackShark V2 Pro is an excellent pick for those chasing sound quality and Razer pedigree for their wireless headset.
The V2 Pro has a wonderfully lightweight design – though a bit heavier than its wired counterpart – and is excellently comfortable to wear for long periods. While cutting the chords that the wired V2 has, the V2 Pro has the same audio excellence, quality (and detachable microphone), and the same TriForce titanium drivers which Razer has found such success within the revamped BlackShark line (and Kairas, too).
It is a bit on the expensive side, though it readily goes for way below its list price given it’s been out in the wild now and Razer also has an upcoming line of Krakens coming. That means you can now get this excellent headset for less than normal and increase the value it offers.
This is my go-to PC headset and I often give it a blast on the PS5 because I love its sound quality. Plus, it’s got great battery life and a really solid mic.
